Installing one isn't always as simple as it looks — the ceiling box matters, the wiring needs to support the fan properly, and heavier fans need correct anchoring. We inspect and upgrade the ceiling box if needed (fan-rated boxes are required — a standard light box won't hold a fan safely), run any additional wiring, install the fan and light kit, connect controls, and test for balance and operation before leaving.
What to Know
Outlet Box Requirements
Standard electrical boxes are rated for light fixtures, not ceiling fans. A fan adds dynamic load from spinning blades that a light box can't handle safely. We check the existing box on every install and upgrade to a fan-rated brace box if needed.
Wiring the Fan & Light Kit Separately
Controlling the fan and light independently requires two-wire or three-wire wiring between the switch and fan. Older homes often only have a single wire run to the ceiling. We check your existing wiring and tell you upfront what's possible.
Remote vs. Wall Switch
If running new wire for separate controls isn't practical, a remote receiver inside the fan canopy is a clean solution. Smart fan controls are another option — controlling speed and light from an app or voice assistant. We install and program all of these.

Yes, as long as the ceiling box is fan-rated or we upgrade it. Basic fan wiring with a single switch is typically the same as a light. For separate fan/light controls, we'll check whether existing wiring supports it or whether a remote receiver is better.
A straightforward replacement takes about an hour. A new installation where there was only a light takes 1-2 hours. If new wiring is needed for separate controls, add time for that.
Up to 75 sq ft: 29-36 inch. 76-144 sq ft: 36-42 inch. 144-225 sq ft: 44-50 inch. 225+ sq ft: 52 inch or larger. For ceilings under 8 feet, use a low-profile hugger fan.
